These terms and conditions explain how you may use this website and what to expect when you work with me. Please read them carefully. By using this website or getting in touch, you agree to these terms.
Using this website
This website is owned and run by BNew Designed Interiors. You may use it for personal, non-commercial purposes. You must not:
- Copy, download or reuse any content (text, images, designs) without my written permission
- Use the website in any way that could damage it or affect how it works
- Try to access areas of the website or my systems that you are not allowed to access
- Use the website for anything illegal or harmful
I try to keep the website accurate and up to date, but I do not guarantee that everything on it is complete, correct or current. I may change or remove content at any time without notice.
Contact and enquiries
When you send me an enquiry through the contact form or by email:
- I aim to reply within two working days
- An enquiry does not create a contract between us
- I am not obliged to take on your project
- I may suggest a consultation or meeting to discuss your needs before agreeing to work together
Any ideas, concepts or information you share with me in an enquiry will be treated in confidence. I will not use your ideas for other projects or pass them on to third parties without your permission.
Consultations and projects
If we agree to work together, I will set out the scope of work, fees and timescales in a separate agreement or proposal. That document will take precedence over these general terms where they conflict.
In general:
- Consultations: A consultation is a meeting or call to discuss your project and give initial advice. Fees for consultations will be agreed before the consultation takes place.
- Design work: Design work includes concepts, mood boards, layouts, specifications and any other creative or technical work I produce for you. I will agree the scope and fee before starting.
- Purchases and orders: When I order furniture, fabrics, fittings or other items on your behalf, you are responsible for paying the supplier. I may charge a fee for sourcing and project management. Payment terms will be set out in our agreement.
- Third-party work: If I recommend or coordinate builders, electricians, painters or other tradespeople, they are independent contractors. Their work is their responsibility. I will do my best to recommend reliable people, but I am not liable for their actions or the quality of their work.
Payment
Payment terms will be agreed before I start work. Typically:
- I may ask for a deposit or upfront payment before beginning design work
- Invoices are usually due within 14 or 30 days unless we agree otherwise
- Late payment may result in interest being charged and work being paused
- All prices quoted are in pounds sterling unless stated otherwise
Intellectual property
All designs, drawings, concepts, mood boards and other creative work I produce remain my property until you have paid me in full. Once you have paid in full, I grant you a licence to use the designs for your own property. You may not:
- Use my designs for commercial purposes (for example, to sell or promote products or services)
- Pass my designs to another designer or company to replicate without my permission
- Publish or share my work publicly (for example on social media or in magazines) without my written consent
I may use photographs of completed projects for my portfolio, website and marketing unless you ask me not to. I will always ask before sharing anything publicly.
Cancellation
If you wish to cancel a project or consultation:
- Let me know as soon as possible in writing (email is fine)
- You may be liable for work already completed and any costs I have incurred
- Deposits are generally non-refundable once work has started
- If I have ordered items on your behalf, you may need to pay for those items even if you cancel
I may cancel a project if you do not pay on time, do not provide information I need, or breach these terms. If I cancel, I will give you reasonable notice where possible.
Limitation of liability
I take care to provide a high standard of service. However:
- I am not liable for any loss or damage that results from your use of this website, except where the law does not allow me to exclude it
- My total liability to you for any claim arising from my work will not exceed the amount you have paid me for that work
- I am not liable for indirect losses, such as loss of profit, loss of business, or disappointment
- I am not liable for delays or problems caused by suppliers, tradespeople, or circumstances outside my control
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits my liability for death or personal injury caused by my negligence, fraud, or anything else that cannot be excluded by law.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be dealt with in the courts of England and Wales.
Changes to these terms
I may update these terms from time to time. The version on this page is the one that applies. If I make significant changes, I will update the date below. Your continued use of the website or my services after changes means you accept the new terms.
